This is the 23rd Psalm that we have read over and over. As you read it this time, put yourself down in this valley that lies to the west and south of the Old City of Jerusalem. Literally up the slopes of its eastern and northern side, you would ascend to the Temple Mount.
Continue reading the words of Psalmist and realize how the 23rd and 24th Psalm tie together.
Ps 23 YHVH is my Shepherd; I shall not want.2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters.3 He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of YHVH for ever.
Ps 24:3 Who shall ascend into the hill of YHVH? or who shall stand in His holy place?
4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.5 He shall receive the blessing from YHVH, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
