DO NOT PASS is not a sign we pay attention to

We certainly had a full day today.  We started out exploring the ruins on the South side of the Old City just inside the city walls.  While looking around, we found a staircase that led down underneath where we were walking.  Not wanting to miss any opportunity to find the Ark of the Covenant, we trecked down the stairs and found ourselves in an underground water cistern, albeit empty.  We found a passageway out of into a winding corridor of rock on all sides barely wide enough to fit one person through.

It seemed like we walked forever when we finally found a staircase back up to civilization.  We were very surprised to find that we had not only traveled underneath the South city walls but under the street and under another city wall across the street.  We were in the City of David probably having gone 1/4 mile.  HOW COOL!

We think this excavated passageway might have been a secret tunnel to travel underground from Solomon's palace to the Temple since it exited at the Western wall where we climbed down at the beginning.  If only walls could talk!
