We made it safe and sound after a very long flight. I've fired my travel agent husband. For some reason he decide we should arrive in Rome at 1am and then catch a connecting Italian airline to Tel Aviv. NOPE, not a good idea!
We slept only minimally after a 5 course not so great dinner. Last time we came to Israel, our chef who prepared the flight meal was wonderful. This one could use some more practice. However, Delta does take care of their guests VERY well. Italian airlines needs to step it up.

Finally got to the hotel about 3:30. We were beat! But instead of taking a nap, we decided to head to the Old City through our most known gate, the Jaffa Gate. Today is the second day of Rosh Hashanah so the city is quite lively. We bought fresh squeezed pomegranite juice. Tasty but warm since the fruit is out in the sun all day.
So the coolest thing about Rome was the ruins and seeing some of the more famous old structures. However, your pictures of Jerusalem are much more impressive so I don't think Rome really has anything to offer you guys! Y
