City of David

We found, just outside the Southern wall of the Old City, the ruins of the City of David.  King David conquered the original Canaanite city that stood here.  He built walls and houses and a palace up this hillside eventually terminating at the top where Solomon built the Temple.

We spent the afternoon climbing into and out of the tunnels under this city that were built by King Hezekiah as a water supply.
