Both Judaism and Christianity are guilty of "adding to" and "taking away" from what YHVH says. There is a curse for anyone who does this according to our Father and we've seen first hand at least part of that curse. People's minds are blocked. Their eyes are blind. Their ears are stopped up. They cannot or will not see that the bible (and Paul) does not say what is taught in Christianity. Amazingly, we have a Savior who said this long before I said it or wrote it in an email. He said not one jot or tittle would change. Yet, somehow, Paul miraculously changes it and changes it for the next couple of centuries.........at least according to evangelical Christianity. This is not true however. Paul did not change a jot or tittle and did not teach that nonsense even giving us clear evidence and testimony. Why will people not surrender?
You tell me. Judaism is as stiff necked and maybe even more so than Christianity. They've had more practice and certainly more time to perfect "adding to" and "taking from" the Torah.
This scene is in our hotel. There are two restaurants, one for meat, one for dairy. Btw, this is a 5 star most "kosher" hotel in all of Jerusalem. It is stunning. But this idolatry is sickening. As I've already written, "idolatry" is following someone other than YHVH. Unless He said it, then reject it. Back to the meat/milk debate. There is a scripture that says "do not boil a kid in his mother's milk". Okay, I won't. I can stop there. I really don't have to wonder what it means. If I choose to search it out, I find that it is an ancient pagan fertility ritual. Remember when people were burying St. Joseph's statues in their lawn to help sell their house? Equally ridiculous and certainly idolatry.
But what the oral law says it that there has to be more to it than just a fertility ritual. It must mean that meat (not just goat meat) and dairy (not just milk) have to be separate. They cannot touch and they cannot be prepared in the same kitchen (regardless whether they are boiled together or not) with the same utensils. There is no scriptural evidence to support this interpretation whatsoever but that hasn't stopped them.
Here's another one. Remember when the Pharisees cornered Yeshua about his disciples not washing their hands before they eat? No such Torah law exists. I dare you to find one. However, in Talmud or oral law, there is indeed a law (man made) adding to scripture and even superseding scripture in it's importance at least according to the Pharisees. What did Yeshua tell them?
I'll paraphrase. "How stupid! You're playing with fire. You're adding to scripture and you're breaking your Father's commands by doing so. A curse will follow". Now you can look up the story and tell me all of that is not in there but I'm telling you that He has already spoken on these matters long before He came to earth as a man. We must all stop allowing the traditions and laws of man take a position of more importance in our lives than our Father. This would also include Paul's letters if you believe Paul speaks something different than YHVH.
Here are pics of our hotel. The first pic is the meat restaurant. Across the atrium is the dairy restaurant and in between is the hand washing station. The close up of the sink shows a particular silver pitcher. Google "hand washing ritual" of orthodox judaism and you'll find out just how ridiculous it is for all these millions of Jews for thousands of years to be duped into following the laws of rabbis instead of the Torah of YHVH.
