disgustingly sad

Okay, I'm not the best tour guide.  I'm not going to just give you the story.  Yes, I've got commentary and yes, some of these scenes bother me greatly.  This is just one of the many.  

At the end of the Via Dolorosa, there is a church called "Church of the Holy Sepulcher".  Now I have no idea what that means and don't really care to look it up.  I don't even know what they claim happened here but I think someone said "jesus was crucified here".  That doesn't seem biblical to me since He was crucified on a hill that looked like a skull.  This spot was not on a hill nor was there any evidence that would signify a scene like the bible describes.

However, TRADITION, (there's that notion that is beginning to irritate me more and more) tells us that the Catholic church decided to build a monument based on this story.  And quite a monument it is.....disgustingly so!

People were lighting candles and placing them on altars.  They were bending down and kissing the floor.  They were touching stone objects on the floor and having their pictures taken.  Some were taking communion in one area before entering another area that who knows what they claim happened.  I could care less.  I was that nauseated over what the 4th beast of Daniel had managed to do over the years.  And they're not finished yet!
